Ministry at Faith Academy

My goal in teaching at Faith Academy is to disciple young men and women as I teach them academics.  I am passionate about what God has called me to do.  Here is a bit more information about what I will be doing at Faith Academy.

01

What is Faith Academy?

Faith Academy is one of the largest missionary kid schools in the world.  It is located in Manila and has around 600 kids K-12.  Over 90% of the kids are missionary kids, representing over 20 countries.  All of the teachers and administration at Faith are fully supported missionaries.  Faith Academy seeks to help students develop strong relationships with the Lord.  Read more about Faith Academy at their website, http://faith.edu.ph

What will you be doing?

This year my primary focus is on teaching 6th grade math, science, and English.  I have 33 kids in the 6th grade, so I should get to know them very well!  I am also hoping to study Tagalog this year.

03

What other ministries will you be doing?

Though my main ministry is going to be educating and discipling missionary kids, I am praying that I will have ways to get involved with the community.  I am praying for the opportunity to join a local body of believers with whom I can minister.  I also might be involved with som eother ministries though the school as well as through my mission.

04

How long will you be there?

Indefinitely.  I don't know how long God is planning on having me live in the Philippines.  It could be the rest of my life.  He may someday, however, decide to lead me elsewhere.  Right now I am becoming a career missionary with SEND, which means I will be on a five-year cycle.  The first four years I'll be on the field, followed by a year of home service.  Then it will repeat indefinitely at this moment.
