Do you know how hard it is to pack for 5 weeks?! I spent a couple days packing, and I sure hope I got everything! I told my roommate this morning as I was leaving, "I have my passport, which is the only thing I can't buy later if I forgot it." :) I am not leaving the country at this time, but I need my passport for training!
Though I have gone on two small adventures already, today seems to be the beginning of a grand adventure. This is the longest I've been away from Eagle Butte since moving there. I will be spending this week speaking at camp, which I am stoked about! Then, I will leave from there and drive myself 2 1/2 hours to Omaha, get a few hours of sleep, then traverse 11 hours from there (through they busy city of Chicago!) all the way to Farmington, MI to attend my Candidate Orientation Program (COP). I am bubbling with excitement, though I am also going to miss my friends in Eagle Butte while I am gone!
Many people have asked me if I am nervous about training. Right now, the answer would be no! I am excited to meet new people and find out all the information I need to know to be a missionary. I am looking forward to getting to know some new lifetime friends who are going through the same process I am going through but will be in other locations across the globe. These will be members of my new SEND family. While at training, I will also put together my presentation that I will use as I raise support over the next year. I am excited to put together a great presentation to share my vision of teaching missionary kids with those I know! Maybe you'll get to see it someday!
I pray that God uses this time at training to teach me and prepare me for how He is leading me. I pray that I may be encouraging to you in your walk with Him as well! I will try to keep you updated on what God is teaching me throughout this time! Please pray with me and for me as I begin this adventure!
