Psalm 37:3-7a (ESV)
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
So many times in life, God seems to say "wait." Waiting is not something that is not easy to do in a culture of instant gratification. Wait. Wait. Wait. It seems as though in my life, God has said "wait" to so many dreams and desires. Now He is saying, "GO!" After having a dream and hearing "wait," it is so hard to believe that all this is actually happening - that my dream of teaching overseas is beginning to become reality. Part of me half expects it to fall through or for God to keep saying, "wait." However, God seems to have reached a point where He just keeps giving green light after green light.
As I proceed and follow His green lights and open doors, I take great delight in how He works out His marvelous plans. I am seeking to constnatly commit my way to the Lord and trust in Him to act. I am praying that He will continually be glorified through the work He is doing in my life. All of this wouldn't be possible without Him.
I have reached the end of my initial training with SEND (COP). I spent the two weeks with 21 other candidates who became SEND appointees by the end of our training. I became very close to these people, and I am so excited to see how God will provide for them as they go back home and begin raising support to travel to the ends of the Earth to spread the gospel. We are headed to 11 countires across the world!
Training was filled with many sessions to help us learn more about SEND, communicating our story, finances with being a missionary, raising support, and other things. We learned a lot during our time (almost an overwhelming amount), and we also had a chance to practice presenting our story in a church-type setting and in a one-on-one setting. We also learned how much we have to raise for our individual trips. I had a hard time saying goodbye to all my new family, but such is the life of a missionary.
So what's next? Support discovery! I will be spending my next year putting everything I learned into practice as I seek those whom God has called to be a part of my support team. I am going to be seeking a prayer team - those who will commit to praying for me and my ministry regularly. They will receive regular updates so they know specifically how to pray. I am also seeking those whom God is calling to be a part of my financial support team. I am seeking both monthly support and one-time donations to go towards my outgoing costs. Click on the "support" page at the top to find out more about how you can be a part of what God is calling me to do.
I am excited to see my team begin to form, and I look forward to seeing how God will work. I will wait patiently for Him to act!
