Though not a Hobbit's Tale by Bilbo Baggins, our Support Raising Road Trip was definitely an adventure! Madison, Christina and I ventured across 22 states in 3 weeks, driving around 5,670 miles! My support raising companions and I had a marvelous time as I stopped and visited many friends, family, and churches to share about my coming move to the Philippines. We also had some time to go and see things along the way.
The south and east coast are both very beautiful places! I love the mountains, so I greatly enjoyed the beauty of the mountains that frequently surrounded me. I also enjoy trees - something we don't have much of in the plains of South Dakota. We went to many museums, went hiking, and relaxed.

The Blue Ridge Mountains in the Smokies.
It was exciting to see many friends and family that I have not seen in a long, long time! I shared with many people about how God is leading me to the Philippines, and I was blessed by so many who were excited for what God is doing. I also was able to speak at two churches, making contacts with people in the church. I was very encouraged and blessed by all of the people who talked with me.
Right before I left for my trip, I sent out my first newsletter with my prayer card in it. (If you didn't get one let me know.) Responses to this newsletter are starting to come in, and that is very exciting to me! I am currently at 12% of my monthly support and 5.25% of my outgoing expenses! How awesome! What a mighty God we serve! Now that my trip is over, I'll be setting up churches to speak at and setting up meetings with individuals to share more and see if there are others God might be leading to partner with me in this ministry. If you are interested in meeting with me or have other questions, e-mail me at oboejo09@gmail.com. If you want to know more about how you can support me, click on the "support" page.
Thank you for your prayers as I have traveled! My car held up very well and we had great fellowship. We are still talking to each other, and we have an even deeper friendship. ;) Tuesday I start new staff training, and then my parents and newphew are coming to visit for Labor Day weekend. The students will start school September 2. I'm excited for this coming year! I am sure it will be busy, but I am looking forward to a new group of students! You can be in prayer for me as I transition into a new school year and learn to balance support raising and school. Thanks!
